Required for September 2023. An outstanding new Second in Department and teacher of French and Spanish is required to support the effective delivery of a coherent, well-balanced academic programme throughout the School for pupils of all abilities

They will ensure that pupils’ learning is at the heart of the department; that every pupil is supported to achieve their fullest potential; and – alongside the Head of Department - provide effective support and management of staff to facilitate the fulfilment of each colleague’s professional potential.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, inspirational teacher and linguist who shares an ambitious vision for the role of MFL in embedding linguistic fluency and cultural pluralism at the heart of our School.

They will be required to teach pupils of all abilities, from beginners in Year 7 to Year 11. Classes can be of mixed abilities and include a number of non-native speakers of English who may be fluent bi or multi-lingual speakers; teachers must be able to differentiate accordingly.

Additionally, colleagues are expected to be involved in the wider life of the department, including providing study clinics or enrichment opportunities as required and through involvement in overseas trips and exchanges in keeping with the nature of teaching Modern Languages.
