Graduate Trainee Teacher of Science

We have an opportunity for a trainee science teacher to join our highly respected and successful Science department.
Following the College’s recent successful ISI Inspection in which all areas of the school were judged to be excellent with the following a specific outcome “the quality of students’ academic and other achievements is excellent”, we are now looking to recruit an appropriately qualified graduate or an undergraduate who is due to graduate this summer, and who has an interest in a career in teaching. The successful candidate will start the ‘Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship with QTS’ in conjunction with the University of Buckingham from September 2023. This is a fixed term contract for the duration of the 15-month apprenticeship and the two years as an ECT. The position is salaried, and the tuition fees are fully funded by the College.
The successful candidate will have a desire to teach and a degree in the relevant subject, along with at least grade 5 GCSE or equivalent in English, Maths and Science. In return, the College will provide a subject specialist mentor, a reduced teaching timetable to support study time, along with the full range of benefits offered by the College. Candidates should have a willingness to play a full part in the extra-curricular life of the College and be in sympathy with its Catholic ethos.
