Rossall School is more than just a school; it is an exciting place to work, learn and grow. If you would relish the opportunity to be a part of something special then we would be delighted to receive an application from you.
Rossall School is among the most successful and prestigious independent boarding and day schools in the North West with flourishing pupil numbers.
With an enticing and highly aspirational culture, Rossall School is offering opportunities for exceptional educators to come and work with supremely talented, inspiring and compassionate professionals to teach our hard working, ambitious and delightful pupils.
An inspiring, enthusiastic Teacher of MFL is required to join our thriving Modern Languages department. The successful applicant will be a qualified teacher or an ECT and should be a specialist French or specialist Spanish from KS3 up to A Level standard. Ideally, they would also be able to teach a second language (Spanish/French) up to KS4, although we will consider the second language to KS3 or German as a second language to KS3/4.
Experience of the International Baccalaureate is desirable though not essential. We will also consider applications from current and potential teacher trainees.
The Modern Foreign Languages Faculty at Rossall School exemplifies the community’s strong commitment to international-mindedness. Mandarin, Spanish, German and French are all offered by the department at Key Stage 3 and 4 as well as in the Sixth Form. Spanish is also offered in the Prep school from Reception age upwards. The department places great emphasis on encouraging pupils to develop an enjoyment of literature, culture and history. Each year a good number of students elect to study languages at universities within the UK or Overseas. Languages constitute a cornerstone of the curriculum at Rossall and the departments are central to the intellectual and cultural life of the School. Annual visits to the Continent provide a superb context within which pupils are able to develop their linguistic fluency.
Classrooms are well equipped with good audio visual resources. The subject is well resourced and members of the department work collaboratively to share good practice and track students’ progress.
