Senior School Nurse

Farleigh School seeks to appoint a caring, supportive and enthusiastic Senior School Nurse with excellent professional knowledge and pastoral skills, to cover a period of maternity leave commencing in late August for a period of six months.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the school’s surgery, leading a small team that delivers high-quality and effective medical, health and wellbeing services to the school’s pupils.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a Band 5 registered nurse with a valid NMC pin and evidence of continuing education within nursing
  • Have up-to-date nursing knowledge including a thorough knowledge of childhood health issues
  • Demonstrate an appropriate range of assessment and diagnostic skills including first aid and emergency care
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build good rapport with children, staff and parents
  • Have experience of line managing a small team of staff
  • Demonstrate knowledge of how to provide effectively for the needs of all children
  • Have a positive understanding of the level of personal and professional commitment that boarding school community life, and the extended school day during term time, require
  • Be willing to uphold and support the Catholic ethos of the school

Hours of work are 46 hours per week during the school term, including 18 working Saturdays per academic year. This is a term-time only appointment.
