The Headmaster is seeking to appoint a dynamic Director of Music who can lead a department, delivering excellence and inspiring boys of all ages and abilities in their musical pursuits.
Abingdon Preparatory School is a leading independent preparatory day school of around 220 boys aged between 4 and 13 years. The school is located on its own site in Frilford, Oxfordshire and is part of the Abingdon Foundation.
The Headmaster is seeking to appoint a dynamic Director of Music who can lead a department, delivering excellence and inspiring boys of all ages and abilities in their musical pursuits. The applicant will be confident to support pupils preparing for senior school music scholarships. The applicant would be expected to teach music across the age ranges, run choirs and ensembles, support the musical aspects of drama productions and contribute fully to our ‘Other Half’ provision.
This is a wonderful opportunity for either a current Director of Music or a suitably experienced Music teacher who is looking to take the next step in their career, to join our school, which was judged to be excellent in all areas and exceptional in pupil achievement and learning in our most recent ISI inspection. We are seeking to appoint a talented and inspiring professional, who is passionate about music and teaching, can provide effective departmental leadership, who is flexible to work as part of a team, as well as being able to take the initiative and contribute more generally in a busy and stimulating school environment.
