  • Closing Date: Thursday 9 February 2023

Kingston Grammar School seek to appoint an inspiring and dynamic Teacher of French and Spanish to cover a period of Maternity leave commencing in February 2023.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher into our successful MFL department. This will be to cover a period of maternity leave commencing in February 2023 and lasting up to 12 months. You will need to be able to teach French to A level and Spanish to GCSE. Experienced teachers and ECT’s are welcome to apply.

Languages play an integral and lively part of the curriculum at Kingston Grammar School and the Department provides our students with a vibrant outlet for language discovery and learning. In First- and Second-Year students study two languages (French, German, Italian or Spanish), in Third Year, Spanish can be taken ab initio and Mandarin can be picked up in after school lessons leading to a GCSE qualification over three years. At GCSE level it is compulsory to study one MFL, but many students will study two. We follow the Edexcel IGCSE syllabus for French, German, Spanish and Mandarin.

Every member of staff at KGS is expected to involve themselves in the co-curricular life of the school and we particularly welcome applicants who might be able to support any of the following activities Junior Science Club, Faraday Society, Engineering Club, CCF, Community Service or those who are prepared to assist the coaching of Hockey, Rowing, Cricket or Football.

Staff are remunerated through the Kingston Grammar School salary scale, which tracks significantly above the national scale for teachers.

A job description, full person specification and application form can be downloaded via the Vacancies section on the school’s website at www.kgs.org.uk/vacancies. Any queries please email hr@kgs.org.uk.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 9th February 2023 at 9.00am.
