Graduate PE Assistant in the Prep School and Resident Member of Staff

We seek to appoint from June 2023 a dynamic and experienced graduate PE assistant to join our highly successful Sports Department in this leading girls’ independent school. The successful candidate will be a Resident Member of Staff living in school accommodation.

The successful candidate will be an individual of personal and professional integrity with a commitment to sporting excellence and for whom sport is a way of life. They should be energetic, flexible, friendly, and enthusiastic about sport, have excellent organisational skills, and be a confident user of ICT.

The ability to establish a good rapport with pupils, colleagues and parents is essential. We have very high expectations of the pastoral care provided to the girls by every member of staff at St Catherine’s and are looking to appoint a calm and caring individual who sees their pastoral role as key to their success.

The post holder will be a dedicated and caring individual and have experience working with children either in a teaching or childcare capacity. He/she will be patient, approachable and able to offer creative ideas which foster growth and development in the children in their care. He/she will be calm, kind and considered and have good communication skills.

Working as part of a team is vital and he/she should be able to work constructively within a small, closely-knit and very busy school in which children matter. It is essential that the person appointed enjoys working with young people and presents a professional, approachable demeanour at all times.

We require all staff working at St Catherine’s to undertake regular Child Protection training and would also offer regular first aid training.
