Leweston School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced full-time teaching assistant to join our thriving community from September 2023 for one year, then subject to review. The role is temporary, subject to funding from DCC.
The successful candidate will join our existing SEND team, working with the support of the SENCo and teachers to support a pupil with a variety of SEND needs and to develop and deliver appropriate adaptations to class work to ensure its accessibility.
They will work under the instruction of the teachers to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching to raise standards of achievement for all pupils, whilst providing a caring, stimulating and educational environment in order for every child to be happy and have the opportunity to learn and develop, whilst following the School’s policies and procedures.
The Teaching Assistant will support the teacher in all elements of classroom practice, including the management of pupils, working with groups of pupils, preparing resources and maintaining the learning environment.
The successful candidate will be working largely on a 1-1 basis, supporting a child who is going into Year 7.
The hours of work will be 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
