Ipswich High School seeks to appoint an outstanding, passionate and dynamic classroom practitioner as Head of History and Politics with effect from 1st September 2025. The successful applicant will join a department which enjoys an outstanding reputation.
In addition to finding an outstanding teacher, we are seeking to appoint an individual who is excited by the opportunity to build on the department’s success and has a clear vision for how this will continue during the coming years.
Located on an idyllic 87-acre campus on the banks of the River Orwell, Ipswich High School enjoys an enviable reputation of delivering outstanding academic results whilst maintaining a warm, welcoming and happy community of over 500 pupils, aged 3-18.

Experience of successfully teaching History at A-Level is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join our ambitious, friendly and caring community of staff and students and enjoy teaching small classes of polite, respectful and hardworking pupils as well as benefiting from terms and conditions which include a maximum of 80% directed teaching time and 18 weeks holiday per year.
