St Joseph's College

St Joseph's College is a vibrant day and boarding school. Nursery and Prep, and Senior sections provide a broad and seamless education for girls and boys aged 3 – 18. Traditional values are at the heart of our forward thinking school community. Our pupils are provided with every opportunity to develop their talents to the full, growing up in a happy and fulfilling Christian environment where all are valued and encouraged.

St Joseph's College was founded on an impressive 60 acre site in the heart of Ipswich in 1937. From the age of three, girls and boys can start in the Nursery in our Prep School and remain with us throughout the Senior School until they are eighteen. Our day pupils thrive together with our full and weekly senior boarders. We set out to provide a genuinely seamless education for 3 – 18 year olds. Strong academic standards and pastoral care, and a broad programme of extracurricular activities and clubs are at the heart of our provision. We are not narrowly selective and are proud of our academic record at KS1 and KS2, raw pass rates at GCSE and A level, and the achievement of our students in securing higher education places. The College offers a wide range of traditional and cutting-edge academic subjects, creative and performing arts, and girls’ and boys’ sports. Children progress through a wide-ranging programme of activities with a strong emphasis on the development of personal and social skills and on establishing positive attitudes to learning and to school life. A wide range of extra-curricular activities, trips and expeditions form a valuable part of what we offer, and provide the balance essential for a full and well-rounded education. An exciting choice of activities and clubs also take place during the lunch hour, after school, and at weekends.
