We are seeking a highly motivated and talented teacher of Design Technology/3D Design in KS3 and KS4 with the opportunity to also teach some 3D Design in KS5 depending on experience. The post could be 0.8 FTE or full time and is from September 2024.

The launch of our sixth form has opened up an exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic and dedicated staff team in a small but growing independent school with an exceptional reputation for the creative arts.

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented teacher of Design Technology/3D Design in KS3 and KS4 with the opportunity to also teach some 3D Design in KS5 depending on experience. The post could be 0.8 FTE or full time.

Located next to Clapham Junction station, in a brand new, purpose built premises, with carefully designed DT and STEM workshops, equipped to a very high standard with an array of woodworking machines, 3D printer, pressure former and laser cutter.

The role:

  • Teaching DT/3D Design in KS3, KS4 (including GCSE 3D Design) and potentially KS5
  • Planning and delivering well structured lessons and ensuring that high standards of behaviour are maintained in the classroom
  • Suggesting and implementing strategies to improve engagement and progress
  • Contributing to the strategic vision for the department through long, medium and short term planning and monitoring progress

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a graduate with a relevant good honours degree
  • Be a creative, innovative and dedicated teacher with a real passion for your subject
  • Have a commitment to embracing challenges and raising pupil attainment
  • Have an exceptional eye for detail
  • Be excited by the school’s vision and respect the school’s ethos and values
  • Experience in either the private or maintained sector would be advantageous
  • Having your own practice as a designer or artist would also be an advantage.
