Welcome to The Hall School, one of London’s leading prep schools for boys aged 4 to 13. I am honoured to serve as Interim Head as we prepare for an exciting new chapter in The Hall’s distinguished history.

Our dedicated off-site sports centre ensures every boy participates regularly across varied disciplines. Our music programme is among London’s finest, with over 80% of boys learning at least one instrument and our annual gala concert at Cadogan Hall a highlight of the school calendar. Drama productions are acclaimed, and our extensive co-curricular offering spans chess to coding, debating to design technology, ensuring every boy discovers passions beyond the classroom.

With three dedicated schools for Junior (ages 4-7), Middle (ages 8-10), and Senior (ages 11-13) boys, we tailor the experience to each developmental stage while fostering a strong sense of whole-school community.

An Exciting New Chapter

I am delighted to announce that Henry Keighley-Elstub will join The Hall as Headmaster in September 2026. Following an extensive recruitment process, the Governors appointed Henry for his outstanding track record in London prep school leadership and his deep understanding of boys’ education. Henry brings over 28 years of experience, most recently as Head of Devonshire House Preparatory School in Hampstead, and shares our commitment to academic excellence combined with genuine pastoral care.

Henry and I are working closely together to ensure a seamless transition, and I know he will embrace and build upon everything that makes The Hall special.

Established in the late 1800s we are a thriving and successful preparatory school providing broad, high-calibre education for all of our 460 pupils aged 4-13. Class sizes are limited to 18 which allows our teaching staff to help pupils achieve their very best.

We encourage all staff to become involved in the wider school community through the delivery of extra-curricular clubs, the school’s outreach projects and formal and informal social events.

Based on three sites in close proximity, the school is easily accessible by the Metropolitan, Jubilee and Northern lines.
