The Head of Chemistry is a key part of the departmental leadership team. It is vital that students are receiving the very best in passionate and inspired pedagogy, and departmental leaders play a central role in ensuring this is the case.

The Head of Chemistry is a key part of the departmental leadership team: one of the most important roles in the school. It is vital that students are receiving the very best in passionate and inspired pedagogy, and departmental leaders play a central role in ensuring this is the case: from curriculum overview and design to teaching and learning within their subject area.
Heads of Department are exemplary teachers who hold responsibility for all aspects of the delivery of their subject across the curriculum and co-curriculum. This includes subject-specific clubs and trips, core curriculum content and extension beyond the confines of any syllabus. They are champions for their teaching teams and they also play a key role in accountability, ensuring consistent excellence for learners at all stages of the College.
The Head of Chemistry has a vital role in supporting all students to excel to the best of their abilities in the Fourth Form (Years 7 and 8) and as they begin to move to optional study towards GCSE, A Levels and TQs in Years 9-13.
