Competitive Salary & Benefits Package: Dependent on skills and experience

Contract: Fixed Term placement from September 2025 to July 2026, with the possibility of an extension to a second academic year. Term time only.

Salary: up to £17,000 per annum plus Accommodation

Accommodation provided: Free self-contained studio accommodation for the duration of the contract. Meals during term time.

The Resident Tutor (Drama Specialist) supports the Director of Boarding and Resident Matron by organising activities and providing supervision in the boarding houses. A strong commitment to delivering the best possible experience for boarders is essential, as is the ability to balance the structure of routines with a warm, inclusive approach.

As a Drama Specialist, this role also provides an exciting opportunity to help develop the College’s Drama programme. We’re passionately committed to providing outstanding experiences in drama for all our students, and to working in partnership with young people to share the excitement of theatre making. As part of this commitment, we are delighted to be collaborating with the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond.

The Orange Tree has an outstanding reputation for staging world-class productions and for extraordinary community work, bringing together thousands of people in Richmond through participatory theatre.

Alongside boarding duties, the successful candidate will participate in the drama programmes at the College and the Orange Tree. The nature of this participation will be flexible, and depend on the needs of the programmes at any one time. Overall, it is a remarkable opportunity to help build a boarding community, to be involved with a world-class theatre, and to inspire young people with the confidence, connection and joy that drama and story-telling afford.

This role involves a mix of morning, evening, and overnight duties. With Thomas’s operating a weekly boarding model, the Resident Tutor will have time off from Friday evening until Monday morning each week, as well as during school holidays.
