To support the Games Curriculum and extra-curricular clubs in providing specialist coaching skills in hockey and cricket and/or rounders during the summer term.
Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
· Plan and implement weekly coaching sessions, including set up and use of relevant equipment, for the School’s hockey groups and teams as allocated by your line manager.
· Analyse requirements and design and implement training sessions aimed at improving confidence and technique in required areas.
· Assume responsibility for team selection.
· Accompany the students to fixtures, both home and away. This includes supervising students on the bus for away fixtures.
· Umpire home fixtures.
· Liaise with Games staff regarding any student or parent query relating to your work as hockey coach.
· Encourage and motivate students both individually and as a team.
· Attend to any first aid requirement, escalating any problems as necessary to a member of the Games staff.
· To undertake weekly coaching sessions for cricket and/or rounders in the summer term.
The professional, technical or academic qualifications that the Applicant must have to undertake the role or the training that they must have received
· England Hockey Coach Level 1
· A First Aid at Work qualification (or willingness to undertake this paid for by School)
