Luckley House School
Luckley House School is a thriving coeducational day and boarding school for pupils aged 11-18.
The uniqueness of our school lies in the combination of our strong Christian ethos and our size. We are proud to be a small school - this enables us to focus on the individual, providing an education that affirms talent and develops potential. Luckley House School is an excellent school, with high academic standards and exceptional pastoral care. At GCSE, the average ‘value added’ is one grade, which means that our pupils achieve an average of a grade higher in each of their subjects than pupils of similar ability in other schools
Luckley House School is a thriving independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 11-18. The school is set in beautiful Berkshire countryside with outstanding grounds and facilities.
We offer full, weekly or flexible boarding packages, within a close-knit but vibrant boarding community of around 30-40 pupils. Weekly boarding is an attractive option for many families, with a dedicated Luckley minibus available in the West London area , picking up on a Monday morning and dropping off on Friday evenings.
We hold high expectations for all pupils to achieve excellent academic results and are proud of our exceptional added-value record. Our small class sizes ensure that each pupil receives the individual attention he or she needs to really progress in his/her studies.
We are particularly proud of our IT strategy at Luckley, recognising the importance of ensuring that our pupils are proficient in widely-used information systems in such a way that their work and other activities are enhanced. Every pupil and teacher in the school is issued with a Microsoft Surface 3 when they start at Luckley, which will be theirs until they leave the school. This device combines the best features of a Windows-based computer with tablet technology. Office 365 will facilitate access to files and open up opportunities for collaboration.
Our pupils’ work in the classroom is supplemented by a variety of enrichment trips and events throughout the year, including visits to places of interest and in-school workshops. Overseas trips are always popular, with recent destinations including South Africa, the USA and the regular ski trip to Europe.
Our rich and varied programme of extended day activities enables our pupils to explore different interests and discover new talents. All pupils are encouraged to take part and the variety on offer ensures that there is something for everyone.
Applicants are required to sit an entrance examination and attend an interview with the Head. Means-tested bursaries are available and scholarships are offered for academic achievement, sports, art, drama and music at Year 7 and 9 entry. Scholarships are also available at Year 12 entry.
