Peripatetic Drum Teacher

  • Organisation: Ripley Court School
  • Location: Surrey
  • Tenure: Term Time
  • Closing Date: Wednesday 8 May 2024

REQUIRED FROM SEPTEMBER 2024

Join our vibrant team at our leading co-educational Nursery and Prep School, serving children aged 3–11. Set on 19 acres of Surrey Countryside, we are conveniently situated just minutes from the A3. Ripley Court School boasts excellent facilities and expansive grounds that enhance our sports programs and provide ample space for children to play. Following our merger with The Reed's School Foundation in November 2019 and celebrating our 130th anniversary in 2023, we continue to grow and thrive. Our warm, family atmosphere and exceptional pastoral care is at the heart of what we do, and we invite you to become part of our outstanding team and contribute to our collective success.

We are looking to appoint an inspiring and well-qualified visiting musician to teach Drums to pupils at Ripley Court for approximately one day per week, during term time. There is the opportunity to increase these hours with input from the successful candidate.

The role-holder will work on a self-employed (peripatetic) basis.

For Safer Recruitment purposes all applicants must complete a Reed’s and Ripley Court Schools application form. Applicants are also welcome to submit supporting documents if desired. Full details including a job description and application form can be found on our website or alternatively by emailing hr@reeds.surrey.sch.uk.

The closing date for applications will be midday on Wednesday 8th May 2024.

Interviews will be held the week commencing Monday 13th May 2024.

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a completed application as soon as possible. The School reserves the right to interview and appoint before the closing date, should a suitable candidate present themselves.

Ripley Court School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profiles, including social media account names/handles, as part of their application.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and Ripley Court School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
