Required for January 2025, fixed term maternity cover for up to one year Tormead School is an academically selective independent school for 800 girls aged 4–18, located in central Guildford.

This is an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified and experienced Head of English to join our thriving, supportive and successful English department. Our ideal leader will demonstrate an enthusiastic and creative approach to teaching English to highly motivated students at KS3, GCSE and A Level. Students attain excellent examination results.

Candidates will have a firm grasp of curricular developments, inspire high standards in the classroom, have a warm approach, and be prepared for wider involvement in co-curricular activities. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a team and work harmoniously with others, including students, colleagues, parents, and the wider community. We value colleagues who are imaginative, flexible and have the ability to inspire and support students and colleagues alike.
