  • Salary info £19,000.00 per annum
  • Tenure: Term Time
  • Closing Date: Monday 11 November 2024

We are looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Boarding Assistant to support the boarding staff in their day-to-day operations.

This is a superb opportunity for a dynamic assistant to help deliver excellence in boarding at Windlesham House. The school currently has a strong boarding community of c.100 pupils, from Years 3 - 8. They are a mixture of UK and international boarders from diverse backgrounds, bringing an important and highly valued globalism to our wider school community.

The Boarding Assistant will be part of the boarding team, looking after pupils in the evening, overnight and in the morning before school, as well as at the weekends. They will help to organise and implement activities both in the boarding houses and in other areas of the school e.g. outside, to improve the boarding experience and create an exciting and homely boarding house.

A proactive approach to engaging with young people is essential and the role will require ongoing personal and professional development to ensure the highest standards of care and pupil development.

The boarding assistant will be expected to occupy onsite accommodation in one of the two boarding houses and be available for duty on a specified number of weeknights and every weekend (with the exception of holidays, exeats and half terms, although a Sunday return will be required to welcome back boarders).

During the day, on duty days, there will be some time allocated to support the games department with sports coaching and to assist with other roles around the school as required and in line with the skills of the boarding assistant.

The role will require the Boarding Assistant to work at least 2 nights and mornings in the week and 1 weekend night and both days. Two days will be given in lieu of the weekend.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants must be willing to undergo appropriate child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
