Kimbolton School is seeking to appoint a general maintenance operative/plumber, with the aim of the role to be to assist our plumber on site whilst they carry out their statutory duties.

Kimbolton School is seeking to appoint a general maintenance operative/plumber, with the aim of the role to be to assist our plumber on site whilst they carry out their statutory duties. The role will consist of tap repairs and replacement, shower risers mixing valve repairs, and ball valves for toilets as well as flush tubes etc. The successful candidate will undertake any reasonable request from the Head of Maintenance to operate in accordance with current Health and Safety guidance and regulations, and in compliance with the School procedures; including working alone or with others, and to work safely and efficiently in maintaining and improving the Kimbolton School environment.

The successful candidate should have some plumbing skills and knowledge, as well as good practical skills and proven experience of building maintenance. They must be comfortable working in awkward, confined or constrained positions. As well as assisting with larger jobs, it would be good if some other basic skills are within the remit of any applicant, although some training can be given.
