Bancroft's School
Founded in 1737 at the bequest of Francis Bancroft, Bancroft's School is still proud of its links with the City and the Drapers Company. Bancroft’s is a day school for 1100 pupils (aged 7 to 18), situated in suburban north east London, on the fringes of Epping Forest. At the centre of the school is a beautiful Victorian quadrangle, beyond lies a cluster of modern buildings containing, amongst others, a multi-purpose sports hall, performing arts centre, art block, and sixth form centre.
At Bancroft’s we believe that since every child only goes through School once, it is important to make sure that experience is as positive as it can be. Bancroft’s is an exciting, cosmopolitan community made up of young people who want to take advantage of the many opportunities on offer both in and out of the classroom. We are fortunate to have an experienced and committed staff as well as first class facilities, so that children can discover their strengths and follow their enthusiasms. There is a very real sense of being part of a supportive community too, with pupils from an eclectic mix of backgrounds learning to work together and thrive. Academic results are unashamedly excellent: 2022 saw 80% of all A levels achieve either an A* or A grade, and almost all of our Sixth Formers continue their studies at university, with around 75% going on to Russell Group Institutions. The co-curricular life of the school is a busy one: a large CCF, a highly popular DofE scheme, Sea Scout
