Palmers Green High School

Palmers Green High School (PGHS) is an independent day school. We specialise in educating girls aged 4-16, challenging and guiding them to achieve their full potential within our warm and friendly school environment. Throughout PGHS, our small class sizes, exceptional pastoral care and excellent teaching enable rapid progress, whilst exciting extra-curricular activities encourage girls to develop into well-rounded individuals.

We were delighted to be named The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide's Independent 11-16 Secondary School of the Year 2025.

Lower School classes from Reception through to Year 6 benefit hugely from the encouragement and expertise of our class teachers and teaching assistants. Light and airy classrooms and access to Senior School facilities all lead to an inspirational learning environment. This is enriched by specialist teaching in Art, Design & Technology, Drama, French, Spanish, Music and PE – frequently in half class groups.

In the Senior School, class sizes drop to an average of only 10 at GCSE, and a broad range of extra-curricular activities enriches the girls’ experience. Girls excel in a wide range of sports, due in part to the excellent facilities available to us at The Walker Ground, Southgate and Southbury Leisure Centres. In 2025, the School’s overall percentage of GCSEs at grades 9-8 was an incredible 48% and 9-7 a fantastic 71%, placing our pupils amongst the top performers in the country.
