This is a unique opportunity to shape pupils’ academic, pastoral and personal development at an important stage of their education, helping them to become confident, independent and enthusiastic learners as they begin their LGS journey.
As Head of Year 6, you will lead the class academically and pastorally, teaching a significant proportion of their lessons while overseeing curriculum, progress and wellbeing. You will combine high academic expectations with a warm and engaging approach, working closely with colleagues and families to support individual pupils. You will also play a key role in enriching the pupils’ experience through co-curricular activities, trips, events and wider school life.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised teacher with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to academic and pastoral excellence. Experience of Year 6 teaching, educational leadership, secondary teaching or leading trips and co-curricular activities would be advantageous. Above all, we are looking for someone who brings energy, personality and ambition to the role and is committed to making The Prep a special and successful part of the pupils’ LGS experience.

Interview Dates: 1st Stage Interview (via MS Teams) w/c 14 October. 2nd Stage Interview (in person) w/c 2 November
The successful candidate will be subject to appropriate pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, verification of references, right to work checks and any other checks required for the role and in accordance with current legislation and statutory guidance.
