Oundle School is seeking an Examinations Officer to provide strategic and operational oversight in all aspects of examinations operations within the School for both public and internal examinations.
The Role
The post-holder will develop policies relating to examinations and advise colleagues as appropriate. The post-holder will also oversee the work of the Examinations and Access Arrangements Co-ordinator and the Head of Internal Examinations, working together on the management and administration of examinations on a daily basis.
Reporting to the Deputy Head Academic, the Examinations Officer with be responsible for the line management of the Examinations & Access Arrangements Co-ordinator, the Head of Internal Examinations, and a team of casual Exam Invigilators.
Working weeks: This role is to work Term Time + 17 days, working 36.4 weeks and paid for 41.33 (to include entitlement to holiday pay). The 17 days are to cover the period from mid-August (prior to A level Results’ Day) through to the start of the Michaelmas Term.
Hours of work: You will be expected to work the hours required to complete the job effectively; it is anticipated that on average this will be 40 hours per week. The specific hours of the role can be discussed at interview. Some Saturday morning work will be required during the Internal Examination period through May and June. All meal breaks are unpaid and non-working hours. Some working from home may be agreed with the line manager, where it does not hinder the effective operation of the department. The employee is expected to act in a professional and responsible way over this arrangement, by managing their own time but ensuring prior agreement is obtained from their line manager.
Salary: £28,613 to £30,202 actual, depending on experience (£36,000-£38,000 FTE). You will be paid each month through the year.
Holidays: Holidays are not to be taken during Oundle School term time. 24 days’ paid holiday in each complete holiday year, plus seven public holidays. This is pro-rata for part-time staff. There is a requirement to work any Bank Holiday when the School is in operation (currently the first May day).
