Prestfelde is a leading UK prep school, and is known for its nurturing ethos, academic excellence and the broad, opportunity driven curriculum for children aged between 3 and 13 years old. Set amidst 30 acres of beautiful grounds on the edge of Shrewsbury, Prestfelde has its own Chapel, Music School, Dining Hall, DT Department, Gym, Indoor Swimming Pool, Drama Studio, Library, ICT suite, and Art Department.

The site extends over 30 acres and backs onto countryside with top class playing fields which form an integral part of the excellent sporting facilities. Academic highlights are underlined by the level of success and quality of scholarships gained by pupils in the final year group. In 2017, Year 8 pupils achieved 99% A-C pass rates at common entrance and were 100% successful in gaining places to their first choice senior schools. Each year pupils gain scholarships to a number of aspirational independent schools, covering every section of the curriculum from art, design, technology and drama to music and sport. Equally pupils choosing to progress to maintained schools are very well prepared for the next stage of their education, having been encouraged to adopt a positive work ethic. Whilst many pupils maintain high levels of competitive sport in their disciplines, we recognise the importance of children enjoying the challenges of team sport at school. Outstanding coaching and mentoring in football, netball, rugby, lacrosse and cricket has encouraged pupils to become outstanding team players. Additional hours of coaching in these and other sports, together with physical education lessons, swimming (on site) and outdoor fitness by specialist coaches, enhances the physical well-being of Prestfelde pupils, resulting in the enjoyment of competition in a variety of sporting environments. The extra-curricular offering at Prestfelde is designed to build on children’s experiences with the aim of improving outcomes in all areas of their learning. Purposefully building on pupil’s interests, we aim to light that spark for learning and developing talents. Activities range from bushcraft and outdoor gardening to construction and mine-craft. Pupils enjoy the many and varied inter-house competitions and the friendly rivalry enhances the will to achieve.
