Deputy Head Broader Curriculum
- Organisation: Gordonstoun School
- Location: Scotland
- Tenure: Full-time
- Closing Date: Thursday 5 November 2026
We are currently seeking to fill the position of Deputy Head Broader Curriculum.
Situated on the beautiful Moray Coast in the north of Scotland, Gordonstoun was founded by the visionary educationalist Kurt Hahn, who is internationally recognised for his pioneering educational ethos. Rooted in the values of Service, Challenge and Compassion, our philosophy is centred on developing character, resilience and a sense of responsibility to others.
We are seeking an inspirational and forward-thinking Deputy Head Broader Curriculum to join our thriving school community. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader or for an ambitious colleague ready to take their first step into whole-school senior leadership. Candidates will have a proven track record of successfully leading a department, boarding house, or significant aspect of a school's broader curriculum, together with the vision, drive and capacity to contribute to the strategic leadership and future development of Gordonstoun.
Gordonstoun is home to more than 500 pupils aged 5 to 18, predominantly full boarders, representing over 40 nationalities. Our distinctive educational experience extends far beyond the classroom, and we encourage all staff to engage fully in the rich life of the school. We are therefore looking for someone who is enthusiastic about playing an active role in our broader curriculum and boarding community, whether that is through outdoor education, sport, service, expeditions, pastoral care, or other co-curricular activities.
This is a role for someone who believes in the transformative power of education, relishes challenge, and is committed to helping young people discover their strengths and potential. Above all, we are looking for a leader who embodies a positive, proactive and collaborative approach, and who shares our belief in Gordonstoun's motto:
"Plus Est En Vous" – "There is more in you."
Gordonstoun is striving to build a team that is truly inclusive. We welcome applications from marginalised and under-represented groups.
If you’re excited to learn more, please contact our recruitment department at recruitment@gordonstoun.org.uk or call recruitment on 01343 837831. Your application form should be emailed to recruitment@gordonstoun.org.uk.
The closing date for receipt of applications is Thursday 5 November 2026 at 11am for a April 2027 or August 2027 start.
