An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced childcare professional to join Bolton School’s Out of School Wraparound and Holiday Care provision. The Centre operates all year round and provides care primarily for children up to the age of 11 attending Bolton School.
The Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the setting, ensuring high standards of childcare, staff leadership, and operational performance. This includes recruiting, leading, and managing staff as part of the wider organisation, as well as holding overall responsibility for the Centre’s operational, administrative, and financial functions. The role requires the service to be delivered in a compliant, efficient, and financially sustainable manner, with a strong and consistent focus on safeguarding and child welfare.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear commitment to children’s welfare and development, with proven experience of supervising staff within a childcare setting and a sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
Applicants must hold a CACHE Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent), be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and be confident in liaising with parents and carers while effectively managing day-to-day operational matters.
With some 2,500 pupils, Bolton School is a large, thriving, academically selective day school. It is situated a mile or so from the town centre in a stunning 32 acre campus and is within easy reach of some of the nation’s finest cities and countryside.
A large Foundation Services Department supports the School operations and within this there is a trading arm, Bolton School Services Limited (BSSL). This includes BSS Weddings and Events, BSS Leisure Services, Kidzone and Patterdale Hall, a superb Outdoor Pursuits Centre situated at the Southern end of Lake Ullswater.
