This is an excellent opportunity for a talented classroom practitioner to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics as separate sciences across Years 7–11. The Role

The Teacher of Science will:

  • Teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE separate sciences
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging, and well-structured lessons
  • Prepare pupils effectively for internal and external examinations
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing timely and constructive feedback
  • Differentiate appropriately to meet the needs of all learners
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the Science department
  • Participate fully in the pastoral life of the School
  • Attend staff meetings, parents’ evenings, and whole-school events
  • Contribute to the wider co-curricular programme where appropriate

Person Specification

  • Essential
  • PGCE with QTS
  • A degree in a Science discipline
  • Ability to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE level
  • Excellent subject knowledge across all three sciences
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • High expectations of pupil achievement and conduct
  • Effective organisational and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the School

Desirable

  • Experience working within the independent sector
  • Evidence of contributing to curriculum development or enrichment activities
