Newcastle Preparatory School

Newcastle Preparatory School (NPS) is a thriving, vibrant and highly popular school for children aged 3-11. Ever evolving, we provide an authentically varied curriculum, putting individual pupil wellbeing, development and achievement at the heart of the education we offer.

NPS is a non-selective, co-educational school. There are currently 284 pupils on roll, from Nursery to Year 6, with 50 classroom-based teaching and support staff. An additional 18 staff contribute to the effective running of the school through administrative, finance, caretaking, cleaning and catering roles.

The school is housed in impressive adjoining Victorian terraces in beautiful Jesmond, close to Newcastle’s lively city centre, with convenient road, rail, bus and metro links. NPS boasts a purpose-built sports centre, extensive playing field, bespoke forest school, dedicated music, art, science and computing facilities, well-equipped classrooms, together with a stunning, modern library.
