Harrogate Ladies’ College is an independent school which offers day, boarding and weekly boarding provision. From September 2026, we will begin the transition to becoming a fully co-educational school, whilst also changing our name to Duchy College.

Duchy College, (formerly Harrogate Ladies College) comprises pre-school, preparatory, senior and sixth form and are a family of leading independent schools delivering a world class education in the heart of Harrogate for boys and girls aged 2-18 years. In our last ISI inspection in 2024 we met all standards in all areas and in 2017 we were awarded the highest possible rating of Excellent in All Areas from 2 to 18 years.

We have a well-established boarding offer, currently for 65 Duchy College pupils, across two separate residences. We are seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Resident Housemistress/Housemaster to join our Boarding team to oversee the running of one of our boarding houses and the welfare of the pupils living there. Each boarding house accommodates up to 35 boarders.

The successful candidate will have a:

  • Relevant professional background
  • Strong pastoral, communication and organisational skills
  • Qualities, skills and experience to inspire pupils of all ages
  • Be willing to participate fully in the wider life of the School.

Please note that this is a non-teaching Housemistress/Housemaster role which comes with accommodation.
