Estates Administrator

Full time: 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: £24,804 - £25,701 (depending on experience).

Downe House is a leading independent boarding school for girls aged 11-18, based in the village of Cold Ash near Thatcham. Our aim is to provide pupils with a wealth of academic, pastoral, and co-curricular opportunities to allow them to grow into confident young women prepared to take on the world.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Estates Administrator to join our Estates Department. This is a pivotal role providing administrative support across a diverse range of services including Maintenance, Housekeeping, Grounds, Events and Postal Services. Working closely with the Head of Maintenance and Facilities, the successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the department, maintaining accurate records, coordinating processes, supporting budget monitoring, and acting as a professional point of contact for staff, contractors, and suppliers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied workload and takes pride in delivering a high standard of customer service and administrative support.

The successful candidate will be an experienced administrator with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to build positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and external partners. A confident user of Microsoft 365 applications and digital systems, they will be comfortable maintaining records, processing orders, producing reports, and supporting operational processes. They will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a willingness to explore innovative digital and AI-enabled solutions to enhance efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, compliance, and professionalism.
