Gayhurst School
Gayhurst is a happy, thriving and vibrant independent preparatory school for girls and boys aged 3-11. For over 100 years the school has endeavoured to bring out the best in every child in its care by focussing on individual talents and supporting children to achieve their full potential. Since becoming co-educational in 2008, Gayhurst has built a reputation as a family school, providing first class co-education in Gerrards Cross.
Life at Gayhurst is engaging and exciting with regular activities organised to enrich the education of its pupils. Children are encouraged to participate in sport, with a busy programme of fixtures against other schools. Creativity is evident throughout the school with opportunities to learn an instrument, become a member of one of the many musical ensembles or take part in the annual year group drama productions. There are also numerous visits to places of interest on both day and residential trips. Gayhurst strives to ensure that pupils are given every opportunity to achieve the best start in life. The school’s commitment to continual improvement and development means that the children benefit greatly from the facilities offered on the school’s five acre site, including IT rooms, Science laboratories, woodland adventure playground and an all-weather AstroTurf. Pupils consistently achieve strong academic results progressing to both local Grammar Schools and to Senior Schools, day and boarding, in the Independent sector. “Our aims are clear,” explains Headmaster, Mr Gareth Davies, “we provide a wide range of opportunities in music, drama, art and on the playing fields as well as through the curriculum. We want every girl and boy to discover and develop their particular talents and support them wholeheartedly in their aspirations for the future.” For more information about the school, or to arrange a visit, please contact the Registrar on 01753 279140 or email mupton@gayhurstschool.co.uk
