We are currently seeking to fill the position of Head of Careers.

Wycombe Abbey is a world class full-boarding school for girls, located on a beautiful site in the centre of High Wycombe. With its distinctive heritage, magnificent 170-acre campus and impressive resources, the School provides an outstanding education for 650 pupils aged 11-18.  

It has been at the forefront of girls’ boarding education for the last 125 years. Superb academic outcomes are the School’s hallmark and pupils regularly secure places at the most prestigious universities across the globe. Careers aims to inspire, inform and support pupils at Wycombe Abbey in preparing them for their future career. Recognising that we live in a rapidly changing world where young people are likely to enjoy a series of careers in their lifetime, we focus on empowering pupils to take control of their own career path and equip them with the necessary skills, confidence and resilience.

We are seeking a dynamic and pupil-centred Careers specialist to develop and maintain an exceptional programme of Careers education and guidance throughout the School, guiding and advising girls on all matters relating to Careers. The Head of Careers will work collaboratively with the Deputy Head (Academic) and proactively contribute to our vision to be a leader in girls’ boarding education and a world class school with a Careers provision that is recognised as exceptional.

This is a new role which presents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to build on our current provision to develop a world class career department at Wycombe Abbey.

The successful candidate will teach a significantly reduced timetable.

Wycombe Abbey has its own salary scale which compares favourably with other independent schools and is well above that of the maintained sector.
