We have an exciting opportunity for a friendly and reliable Nursery Assistant. This position is located at St Andrew’s Prep School in Eastbourne. The role entails working with and supporting the Room Leader in ensuring that children receive the highest possible standards of care and education.

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Nursery Assistant to join our team at St Andrew’s Prep School in Eastbourne. You’ll be joining a high‑performing team, and with exciting developments underway, this is a fantastic time to join us.

As a Nursery Assistant, you will work closely with and support the Room Leader to ensure that children receive the highest possible standards of care and education. We are looking for someone with a caring, patient, and proactive approach to working with young children.

This full-time, all‑year‑round position requires a Nursery Assistant with a full and relevant Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification and a sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Person Specification

Experience in similar work in a similar environment

Must have suitable experience in working with children aged under 24 months

GCSEs in English and Mathematics, Grade C or above, or equivalent

Good knowledge of EYFS and Early Years practice

SEND experience or experience with individual needs

Must have full and relevant level 3 or above early years qualification and an understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EFYS):

o NNEB o NVQ Level 3 Early Years Care and Education o NVQ Level 3 Early Years Educator o NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce o Diploma in Early Years o BTech in Early Years

Terms and Conditions:

This is a full-time, all-year-round position, and ideally, candidates will hold a Level 3 childcare qualification.

Hours of Work: Full-time, all year round

Salary: From £26,437 to £28,080 annual salary,dependent on qualifications

Holiday: Six weeks paid annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
