Lorenden Preparatory School

Lorenden Preparatory School is situated in the village of Painter’s Forstal between Faversham and the North Downs and within easy driving distance of Canterbury, Whitstable, Ashford and Sittingbourne; an idyllic position in the heart of the Kent countryside.

The school’s avowed aim is to develop self-disciplined thoughtful children with a cheerful ‘can do’ attitude to life and a strong sense of fair play.All round expectations are high and academic results are excellent. At eleven children either transfer to local grammar schools, which in this area are excellent, or continue in independent education. Able children have been awarded major academic scholarships; sports or art scholarships. Parents are not directed down one particular route: the choice is theirs. Music is a great strength of the school and sports results are remarkably good. Every child ‘gets a go’ and resilience is the name of the game. This is a school that needs to be experienced to be truly appreciated: it is not particularly well known and visitors are always delighted by what they find.
