Shiplake College is seeking a creative and enthusiastic part-time Teacher of Art to cover a period of maternity leave for up to one year, starting in January 2027. This is part-time position working four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

This is a superb opportunity to join our art department, renowned for producing a diverse range of dynamic and innovative work. The art department is situated on the top floor of our purpose-built John Turner building based in classrooms flooded with natural daylight and with exceptional facilities.

The successful candidate will be able to teach a wide range of art specialisms – ceramics, printing, painting and drawing with excellent knowledge of the Art curriculum at Key Stage 3,4 and 5. This role would suit an energetic teacher who is committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning; a teacher who can inspire and challenge all our pupils. Shiplake College is an independent boarding and day school for around 620 pupils aged 11 to 18. There has been a co-educational Sixth Form since 1998 and since September 2023 girls have been welcomed into Year 7 as the College became fully co-educational.
