The successful applicant must have the ability to coach one of the School’s major sports - Lacrosse - and a summer sport at a high level.

The successful candidate will be able to motivate students of all abilities and be thoroughly committed to a full and inclusive extracurricular programme. The post involves teaching across the age range from Year 5 to Year 13, as well as pastoral responsibilities within their allocated year group. The department offers GCSE and A level PE.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead support for the planning and teaching of the activity within the curriculum, including writing, reviewing and updating the schemes of work.
  • Organisation of coaching staff for all School teams, including overseeing appropriate CPD and training; agreed in discussion with the Director of Sport when planning the overall staffing of the extracurricular programme.
  • Working with the PE Administrator, book, arrange, organise and run all fixtures and events, including Saturday fixtures.
  • Arrange staff for fixtures and events.
  • Coach multiple age group teams.
  • Work with the Head of Performance and Athletic Well-being in support of Lacrosse squad and individual fitness.
  • Ensure effective communications with staff, parents and students regarding the activity in and out of the Department.
  • Arrange, organise and run access courses for local feeder schools during the Trinity Term.
  • Liaise with the Communications department to celebrate student achievements within Lacrosse.
  • Develop links with the Admissions Department to leverage the popularity of Lacrosse with feeder schools in support of student recruitment.
  • Arrange, organise and run a major sports tour once every three years.
  • Fostering cross-curricular links and good relations with other departments.
  • Liaise with Heads of House / Director of Students regarding house and Lacrosse activities.
  • Liaise with the Director of Sport about partnership development.
