City of London Freemen's School

Freemen's is a leading day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 7-18, located in 57 acres of beautiful Surrey parkland. Known for academic excellence, we are just 30 minutes from London, with school transport available and only 40 minutes from both Gatwick and Heathrow airports.

In the 2022 The Sunday Times Parent Power league table, Freemen's ranks 14th in the UK amongst co-educational independent schools for results at GCSE, and our students' success in achieving A* (8/9) grades is significantly higher than those of our neighbouring schools in Surrey.

We want children at Freemen’s to learn, to lead and to make a difference. We will do this by:

  • nurturing a community of learners – adults and children – who are ambitious about what they might achieve in and out of the classroom;
  • providing relevant opportunities for pupils to expand their horizons intellectually and socially; athletically and creatively; emotionally and spiritually;
  • establishing an environment at Freemen’s where everyone involved in the community is respected, trusted and supported;
  • encouraging responsibility and capability; honesty and reliability; pride and passion;
  • promoting determination and innovation; flexibility and adaptab
