Collingwood School

Collingwood School is an IAPS co-educational school for children aged 3 to 11 in Surrey. Our school has a deserved reputation for a being a family friendly school with a strong focus on pastoral care whilst at the same time delivering an exciting and challenging curriculum. Small classes ensure that the children receive the maximum amount of attention and so thrive

The friendly and caring atmosphere underpinned by traditional values, so recently validated by our excellent Inspection, characterises Collingwood school. The support and commitment of everyone involved is key to generating the spirit which makes Collingwood such a successful and happy school. Indeed we pride ourselves on our pastoral approach and the sense of community is very strong, made even more so by a very active PTA who run many school functions where parents, staff and children can all come together as one. At Collingwood we offer a broad and balanced education, within small classes, which caters for children from Nursery to age 11 of all abilities; there is no formal entrance examination. Yet we tailor the experience here to suit each child’s individual needs in order to prepare them fully for the next stage of their education. By so doing, the children in our care thrive, as witnessed by our excellent academic record where children move onto top Independent and local grammar schools; a reputation of which we are justifiably proud. Set within a fine Victorian building once owned by the famous artist, Frank Dadd, there is the sense of a strong artistic heritage and history where children can make the very best of so many opportunities. Three other key concerns for parents are affordability, out of hours’ child care and location. We believe that our fees are extremely competitive: from as little as £600 a month; we offer a wrap-around child care service from 7.30 am - 6.30 pm: a must for busy parents; easy access for Wallington railway station and unrestricted parking. As a non-selective school we are particularly proud of our Year 6 children who go on to a variety of schools in what is now an extremely competitive atmosphere for Secondary school places. In recent years these have included Trinity, Whitgift, Wallington County Grammar, Wallington High School for Girls, Greenshaw, Stanley Park and Glenthorne. Moreover, our children have gained scholarships at some of these schools with particular citations in certain subjects. This is of great credit to our boys and girls and it is something of which we are justly proud.
