Hoe Bridge School is seeking a Finance Manager. The role is wide ranging with responsibility for staff management, financial and management accounting and reporting, cashflow management, compliance and budgeting.

The Finance Manager is responsible for the effective financial management of the school, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role supports senior leadership by providing financial insight, budgeting, and strategic advice to ensure the school’s financial sustainability.

Applicants must possess the ability to prioritise workloads effectively, maintain confidentiality, to remain calm under pressure and use tact and discretion when dealing with people. The willingness to learn, to work as part of a team and to support the wider life of the school is essential. You will be trustworthy, discreet, organised and deadline-focused, taking a proactive, solutions-oriented approach with a collaborative leadership style. This is a full-time post and candidates will have proven experience in a finance management role, alongside a strong track record in team development. Applicants will possess excellent budgeting and reporting skills, a high level of attention to detail, and strong analytical and communication abilities, with proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel. Desirable qualities include experience within the education or not-for-profit sector, a professional accounting qualification or being qualified by experience, and a working knowledge of VAT partial exemption. The salary range is £50,000 to £55,000 and will reflect qualifications and experience.
