Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging music lessons tailored to students' age groups and abilities, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards
Foster a stimulating environment that encourages musical exploration, creativity, and confidence among pupils
Assess students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development
Organise and supervise practical activities such as rehearsals, performances, and individual or group practice sessions
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music into broader school projects and events
Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and assessment outcomes
Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive atmosphere that celebrates diverse musical interests and backgrounds
Qualifications
Proven experience in teaching music at primary or secondary level is highly desirable
Formal qualification in Music or Music Education (e.g., PGCE with specialisation in Music) or equivalent recognised certification
Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging lessons that cater to varying student needs
Excellent communication skills, capable of inspiring and motivating students of all ages
Knowledge of a range of musical genres, instruments, and teaching methodologies
Ability to work flexibly within a dynamic school environment and adapt lesson plans as necessary
A passion for music education coupled with a commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere
