RGS Surrey Hills

RGS Surrey Hills is a co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 11–18, set in 26 acres in the Surrey Hills near Dorking.

Pupils study GCSEs before choosing between A Levels and the International Baccalaureate Diploma in Sixth Form. The school has pupils from more than 30 nationalities and offers full, weekly and flexible boarding.

In 2026, RGS Surrey Hills was Commended in the Independent Boarding School of the Year category at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards. The school's U12 boys' football team were also crowned ESFA National Champions.

RGS Surrey Hills is a member of Round Square and part of the Reigate Grammar School family of schools, working with its partner schools across academic, sporting and co-curricular activities.

Pupils study GCSEs before choosing between A Levels and the International Baccalaureate Diploma in Sixth Form. Small classes allow teachers to know pupils well and provide support according to their individual needs.

The school has pupils from more than 30 nationalities, with full, weekly and flexible boarding available across six boarding houses. Residential staff live on site and the school nurse provides medical support during the school day. A new Health and Wellbeing Centre opens in September 2026.

RGS Surrey Hills is a member of Round Square, an international network of schools. Pupils take part in conferences, exchanges and projects with other member schools. In May 2026, RGS Surrey Hills hosted a Round Square conference, bringing pupils and staff from other schools to Surrey.

Outside the classroom, pupils take part in sport, music, drama, art, outdoor education, clubs and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. The school has a sports centre, music school and extensive outdoor space. The U12 boys' football team became ESFA National Champions in 2026.

RGS Surrey Hills is part of the Reigate Grammar School family of schools. Pupils and staff work with colleagues across the group, with opportunities for joint academic, sporting and co-curricular activities and use of facilities across the wider school family.

The school welcomes pupils from the UK and overseas, with entry points throughout the Senior School and Sixth Form. International pupils can study GCSEs, a One Year GCSE programme, A Levels or the IB Diploma. Shorter periods of study may also be available for pupils looking to spend one or two terms at a British boarding school.

In 2026, the school recorded an increase in its top A Level grades. Every pupil who applied to university secured a place at their first-choice institution, with destinations including King's College London, Durham University, UCL, the Royal Veterinary College and Exeter, alongside universities in Boston, Barcelona and Gothenburg.
