Sir William Perkins’s School is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Classics to join our dedicated department from September 2026.

Students begin studying Latin in Year 7 and continue with it as a compulsory subject throughout Key Stage 3. At GCSE and A Level, we offer both Latin and Classical Civilisation, and there is a healthy uptake of enthusiastic students for each subject every year. We have an enriching co-curricular programme within the department, offering a range of lunchtime clubs, Classics-orientated social events, regular national and international trips to key archaeological sites and museums, and talks with renowned Classics academics.

As a member of a forward-thinking faculty, you will work closely with the Head of Department and the wider Classics team to ensure students receive a well-rounded, high-quality, and immersive experience of the subject. With outstanding resources and a culture that celebrates intellectual curiosity, this is an exciting time to join the department that consistently inspires students to achieve.

The successful candidate will be well-qualified and an excellent classroom practitioner, with proven experience of teaching Classics at all levels. The ability to teach another Humanities subject would be a distinct advantage.
