We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-rounded musician to teach classroom music across the Prep and Senior Schools and to play a full part in the life of a busy, high-achieving Music Department.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-rounded musician to join our busy, high-achieving Music Department from January 2027. You will teach classroom music across the Prep and Senior Schools, from Prep lessons and Key Stage 3 through to aural, theory and, depending on experience, GCSE and A Level. The post is 0.6 FTE for a qualified teacher, or up to 0.7 FTE for a trainee or Early Career Teacher to allow for training time. Full-time hours may be possible for candidates who can offer another subject. We will shape the timetable around your strengths. Music is at the heart of school life at St Catherine's, so you'll also play a full part beyond the classroom, whether that's accompanying, playing for Chapel, supporting concerts and trips, or helping share the department's work with our community. For the right candidate, there is a clear route to leading Academic Music, working alongside the Director of Music.
