Badminton is a thriving day and boarding school for girls aged 4–18 which has remained at the forefront of girls’ education for well over 150 years. Whilst the School retains a nationally outstanding academic record, its focus continues to be on nurturing the girls’ natural curiosity and fuelling their passion for learning.

Located on a secure campus in the heart of the attractive University City of Bristol in the South West of England. The school takes a holistic approach to education with inspirational teaching, a friendly atmosphere and a strong emphasis on pastoral care.

Badminton consistently achieves impressive academic results and is one of the top girls’ schools in the UK. We have a 100% pass rate at A Level and consistently high grades enables our girls to attend a wealth of top class Universities and Music Conservatoires across the world. Girls are encouraged to develop as individuals, to pursue their own interests and achieve their goals both in academic and extra-curricular activities and not to be afraid of a challenge.

At Badminton we aim to create a community which is supportive and encouraging for all and is based on respect, care and tolerance in an environment in which each girl is valued and well known by all staff. The happiness and welfare of the girls is paramount. There are around 450 pupils at Badminton and the small community and small class sizes mean that we are able to focus on the girls as individuals. Girls are taught that other people matter; their respect and support for each other goes right to the heart of the school’s ethos.

Badminton is also focused on ensuring that girls realise their potential so that they can be capable of achieving whatever they want to be when they leave school. The Sixth Form is run like an undergraduate community with strong pastoral care, extra freedom and responsibilities and students occupy a separate Sixth Form Centre. For the younger pupils, Badminton Junior School, in preparation for the Senior School, provides a healthy balance between academic work and recreational activities with plenty of opportunity for creativity and physical exercise.
