Channing Junior School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and academically vibrant Junior School from September 2026.
The successful candidate will work closely with Form Teachers and Specialist Teachers to support the academic, social and emotional development of pupils. They will play an important role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment, assisting with the delivery of learning activities, supporting individual pupils and small groups, and helping to ensure that every child feels confident, secure and motivated to learn.
We are looking for a caring, proactive and highly motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a genuine commitment to supporting young children in their learning and development. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues, work effectively as part of a team and contribute positively to the wider life of the school. Experience working within a primary school setting is desirable, and candidates should hold a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education or be willing to complete this within the first year of employment, funded by the school.

Hours:
- Full time, permanent
- Monday to Friday, term time only plus INSET days
- Standard working hours: 8.00am – 4.00pm
- One day per week: 8.00am – 4.30pm
- One day per week: 8.00am – 6.00pm
- One day per week: 7.30am – 4.00pm
Start date:
September 2026

- Salary in the region of £28,329 – £31,599 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications
