You will be responsible for the on-shift operation of the Sports Centre under the direction of the Deputy Sports Facilities Manager.

The environment: Harrow School is situated in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London, and is one of the best-known schools in the world. Around 835 boys study at Harrow and live in the School’s 12 boarding houses. Harrow School’s Sports Club is open to paying members of the public when not in use by the pupils, and it also hosts sports events for local schools, charities, nationally recognised sports clubs and occasionally as a film location. The Sports Centre is open Monday to Friday 06.15 – 22.15 and at weekends 07.30 – 19.30.
The role: You will be responsible for the on-shift operation of the Sports Centre under the direction of the Deputy Sports Facilities Manager. The role will encompass supervision of the facilities during both School and public times. The Team Leader position will have supervisory responsibility for the Sports Club staff on shift at the same time. It is a role that allows for flexibility throughout the Sports Centre; working on the Front Desk, providing lifeguarding services, facilitating internal and external sports events, and supervising the team on duty to provide a safe, clean environment and an excellent customer service. The skills: This role will suit a candidate with experience of a similar supervisory position in the leisure industry, who would like the opportunity to utilise a broad range of skills within the sports and leisure specialism. A current NPLQ qualification is essential. You will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for taking initiative and responsibility to provide a clean, safe, pleasurable environment for pupils, customers and colleagues. Using your strong written and verbal communication skills; tactful, approachable manner and ability to positively motivate others you will build strong, effective professional relationships throughout the School.
