Hours of Work: Part Time (one day per week plus 2x Saturday Open Mornings)

The Headmaster and CEO of Eltham College Family of Schools, with the Head of Blackheath Prep, seek to appoint a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our vibrant and forward looking school as a part time Teacher of Music. This is a new post and an exciting opportunity for a committed practitioner to contribute to a thriving and growing Music provision, working closely with the Music department and wider colleagues to deliver a rich and engaging curriculum.
The successful candidate will have a passion for introducing young children to Music and fostering creativity, confidence and a love of performance. The role will primarily involve teaching pupils in the Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery/Reception) and/or Key Stage 1 according to timetable need, providing a strong musical foundation and nurturing early enthusiasm and participation. As part of the Eltham College Family of Schools, the successful candidate will also benefit from access to a wider network of professional support, collaboration and development opportunities.
At Blackheath Prep, Music plays a central role in school life, and the postholder’s primary responsibilities are to provide leadership of the music programme across the school, including teaching, co-curricular provision and the management of visiting music staff. They will lead and implement initiatives to ensure the continued success of the school as an educational establishment, promoting a love of music and securing positive outcomes for all pupils. We take pride in being a school in which all levels, and styles, of music are promoted and embraced, whether that be pupils taking their first steps as instrumental musicians, or targeting high-level performance as a soloist or ensemble performer.
